Hi.  I’m Michael Meissner, the planter and lead pastor of LifeBridge Church. My family came to Cypress a little over two years ago when God put on our hearts the dream of planting a new church in this rapidly growing area of NW Harris County.  I’ve been a pastor for 13 years, equipping and leading churches in San Antonio, Colorado Springs, and now Cypress.

The joy of my life is my family.  My wife, Julie and I have been married for 14 years and are blessed with three precious children.  Caleb is 8, Courtney is 6 and our newborn Joshua came in May of ’08.  Having a new baby and starting a new church all in the same year is certainly an adventure!

Faith has always been a central part of my life.  I was blessed to be raised in a solid Christian home where I developed a deep love for God and a passion for people who don’t yet know him.  In my young years, I was profoundly shaped by the music of Keith Green, who instilled a passion and fire in my faith that burns to this very day. 

I felt God’s call into ministry in my freshman year of college, while working as a camp counselor at a Christian camp in Texoma.  I graduated with a Communication degree from Concordia University, Texas, then spent four years at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis getting my theological education.  Always, though, I tell people my best theology was learned as a child, sitting on my mother’s lap as she read me the stories from the Bible. 

I love almost every part of ministry, but have a special joy in two particular areas.  First, I have a passion for those who are brand new in the Christian faith.  I love talking about what Christ has done for us on the cross and how having Him involved in our lives changes everything.  My other great ministry love is young people.  Even before I had children of my own, I had a passion and fire for passing the faith along to the next generation.  With three kiddos of my own, that burns brighter now than ever. 

You’ll find me passionate for Christ and his people, a down-to-earth and humble servant of my God, and one who cares deeply about those that God will bring into our LifeBridge family.  My greatest longing, though, will always be for those who don’t yet know our Lord Jesus Christ.
