Montrose Street Reach
On Wednesday nights, a parking lot in downtown Montrose is turned into an outdoor church where homeless individuals, prostitutes and street crowd gather for a worship service. It is Montrose Street Reach. This is a ministry that is truly on the front lines of the spiritual battle for our city.
Every first and third Wednesday of the month, members of LifeBridge church participate in this service – feeding and caring for the children while their parents are in worship. Our involvement here has profoundly shaped us as a church as well.
Participation involves some risk, takes us out of our comfort zone and puts us around people we might otherwise look right past. But after serving here, most individuals walk away with a whole new perspective on what it means to, “love your neighbor.”
